Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin
The last few days I’ve been watching Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and as much as I liked the show starring Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson among others, I definitely prefer Original Sin because of the fact that it’s more horror based than the show that aired on FreeForm. That’s not to say that both series don’t have talented actresses in them. It’s just that the newer series Original Sin is more my style. Not to mention that it stars Carly Pope from one of my favorite shows as a teenager. Another thing that I thought was great was that the cast was far more diverse than the cast of the original series. I think it’s because HBO Max is willing to cast actors and actresses who aren’t all white because they don’t have to worry about how people react as much as a network that is owned by Disney. This is just my opinion however so take it with a grain of salt. Another thing that I really love about Original Sin is that viewers actually see the villain even though they are always wearing a mask whereas in the FreeForm version, the villain “A” is not seen. Instead “A” chooses to communicate via text messages to the characters. The villain in Original Sin also communicates in that way with the characters but as I said, is not afraid to show the girls that he (or she) is watching them and knows their secrets. Since I have just finished watching Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, I decided to update this post. I was honestly surprised by who the villains were in the show. Yes, there were multiple bad guys but only one of them is revealed early on but I won’t say who and ruin the show for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet but plans to. Other things I enjoyed was the mention of so many different horror movies as well as the scene that honors a classic horror movie made in the 70s. If you watch Original Sin, you’ll know what movie I mean.
